Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy(ABA) was a game changer for our family. ABA is designed to help address an individual's behaviors and then create a specialized treatment plan to assess, work on, and hopefully change some of them. Keep in mind not all families are the same and the therapy that worked for our children may not for yours. However, for us ABA was the stepping stones to where our children are now and it completely changed both of their lives. My son at 2.5 years old was completely non-verbal, was a constant eloper, had no functional play skills, never answered to his name, and had no sense of danger whatsoever. I watched as ABA gave my son a voice first through PECS, then through actual words. I watched as my child who always ran never sensed danger actually stopped, when we said stop. ABA began teaching functional play and eventually he played with cars, dinosaurs, and now even plays with his sister. ABA for our family was and has been such a power therapy. ABA also helped our daughter, who was slightly behind her peers and needed that extra one on one help. My daughter after a year of ABA finally caught up with her peers and was able to integrate back into a normal preschool setting. However, due to high demand your family may experience being put on a wait-list especially if you would like your child to receive in center services. 

It is important to note that in order to receive ABA you will most likely need to send in the following to an ABA provider

1) A referral from your child's physician

2) The Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluation, CARS-2 or ADOS

3) Picture of your child's insurance card
